Hello my fellow Trinity members.

This weekend I have the honor and pleasure of preaching this Sunday’s sermon, so instead of doing my usual blog I’d like to make two announcements and leave you with a quote on the Sabbath.

First, don’t forget, this Sunday is our 3 of 4 “Lean-in” conversations around community engagement. Personally, I’m really excited about this convo because I think it’ll be a lot of fun and fruitful.

Second, there will be a traditional Passover Seder on Sunday 3/26 at 4pm at Temple Shomer Emunim specifically for non-Jewish people that have never attended one before. I’ll be going and would love for you all to join me! Please email me if you’re interested.

Sunday I will be talking a bit about the Sabbath, a time of rest, restoration, and celebration, and I wanted to share this quote from Rabbi Heschel from his book The Sabbath.

“Most of us seem to labor for the sake of things of space. As a result, we suffer from a deeply rooted dread of time and stand aghast when compelled to look into its face.”
– Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, The Sabbath, pg. 5

See you all Sunday!
Grace and peace.

George Benson
