Beloved friends,
Here we are, kneeling in front of this most exquisite expression of Divine Love- a vulnerable baby, born to unlikely parents in an even more unlikely setting. And yet again, our spiritual narrative leads us to this place and invites us to breathe in deeply and then exhale, resting in the promise that new life has been gifted without reservation or expectation. Our job is to open our hands and hearts in a posture that can receive all that is offered.
However you choose to spend this day, may it bring you peace and deep joy. As we continue to walk through the uncertainty of the days ahead, I remain hope-filled and eager to discover what is next because we will do so together.
Thank you for the gift of showing up all the ways you have this past year. Each of you inspire, challenge and comfort me and my walk among you. I see the light of Christ in your eyes,
through the work you do with your hands,
through the care you show one another and
through the courage you find to speak truth to power again and again.
You are the greatest gift and the most exquisite expression of love.
