I thought this was going to be just a temporary gig; just a chance to help out, and earn a little Christmas cash. That’s what I thought. But I’m sure Lisa was thinking, “All I have to do is get him in the building, and he’s ours”. And that’s all it took.

That initial “To-Do” list was all checked off in a few weeks, and more and more seem to keep appearing. And all this time, it’s never really felt like “work”. It’s truly a blessing to be able to prepare a space for worship.

I spend my days with people who bring out the best in me; who help me see the best parts of others. These are people who trust, who reach out their hands to strangers, who seek joy for other people.

I’ve always believed that God plans my steps, to put me exactly where I’m supposed to be. I may not be able to carry a tune, or deliver beautiful sermons. But if I can help provide a safe entrance, into a well-lit hallway, to a stable chair, in a clean sanctuary, that will provide our members a pleasant place to worship; then I’m where I belong.
