Dear friends!
This upcoming Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 pm, the choir will hold the third annual end-of-the-year choir concert, entitled Rainbow Connections. How did we come up with that theme? Well, I’m happy to report that this year, we collaborated in a whole new way.
In years past, both Grace and I, with the help of the section leaders, would stew on a theme or genre of music. We had some criteria- the music needed to be known enough to generate interest from the choir and parishioners and have music that was accessible for many different skill levels. The Disney Concert in 2024 was an easy choice, as was the Broadway Concert in 2025. Coming into the new year, what would we choose? Many ideas were flying around the music and arts office, but nothing was landing. So, we tried something new: we took it to the choir.
Over the course of multiple rehearsals, the choir did old-fashioned brainstorming sessions. The whiteboard was filled with many possibilities, in multicolored Expo markers, and there was one reigning idea the choir always returned to: who are we, and what is Trinity? And one day, the Rainbow Connections Concert was born.
You may be surprised to know how many songs either a specific color or rainbow reference… Suffice it to say there’s a lot, and we narrowed it down to 12.
So please, join us May 21st at 7 pm for a delightful home-grown concert, with delicious rainbow-themed treats!
Keep singing!
Chelsie
