Wednesday, April 17, 7pm   St. Marks Chapel (1st floor of Trinity)

A staged reading of the play Speak Truth to Power: Voices from Beyond the Dark by Ariel Dorfman will take place in St. Marks Chapel on Wednesday April 17 at 7:00pm. Directed by Jeffery Albright with support from Actors Collaborative Toledo the play celebrates human rights leaders from nearly forty countries and five continents and presents the inspiring stories of fifty-one women and men who have stood up to oppression at great personal risk in the non-violent pursuit of human rights. It is an exploration the quality of courage through the issues that these human rights defenders have committed their lives to, from demilitarization to children of war, from environmental activism to religious self-determination

Speak Truth to Power will be part of Trinity’s Holy week observance. Admission is free, but there will be a free-will offering to support Episcopal Relief and Development. The play will be followed by refreshments and a question and answer period with cast members, the director and The Rev. Dr. Lisa Tucker-Gray. All are welcome and wanted!
