Beloved Friends,
As Lisa said last Sunday, “Easter is coming and the resurrection cannot be contained by any pandemic!”

We write to you now with an update about our worship services over the next few weeks.
Following is a statement from our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry calling for the suspension of public worship for Holy Week and Easter. https://episcopalchurch.org/posts/publicaffairs/presiding-bishop-michael-currys-word-church-holy-week-and-easter-day-2020-online

Last Sunday was our first adventure into the world of “livestreaming” our Sunday morning service, and from all accounts we believe it was a complete success.
To date we have had over 1,000 people view our FB stream and during the actual service we had 68 households on-line with us; thank you all who joined!

This week we plan to do the same as we finish this season of Lent. Lisa, Nate and a handful of musicians will gather at Trinity, taking as many precautions as necessary to offer another service.

After this Sunday, honestly, we do not know if we will continue to broadcast from church. What we do know is that worship will be offered and you will be invited each step of the way.
And while the journey through Holy Week will necessarily take on a very different shape and form, we will indeed make our way to the cross and then meet at the empty tomb come Easter morning!

Right now Lisa and Nate are working on creative and flexible liturgies to embrace the sacredness of the days ahead. We look forward to these experiences and are grateful for our identity as a “creative, inclusive, progressive, downtown community.” With each new way of worshipping, praying, connecting we feel God’s love and presence.

At this point, we believe that we will need to go far beyond Easter to offer safe, creative and meaningful ways to worship before we can gather again in-person on Sunday mornings. No one has an exact timetable available to them, but rest assured we are in conversation with Trinity’s staff, we are listening to our Bishop and Presiding Bishop and, we are staying connected to our local community.

Thank you for all the ways we are caring for each other day by day.
And may you never forget that you are loved.

Faithfully,
Your Wardens: Donna Steppe & Roberta Durham
Your Priest: Lisa Tucker-Gray
