One of our purposes as a faith community is to respond to God’s call to become followers of Jesus Christ. Our identity is found in Jesus, and he doesn’t care how many Facebook friends or Twitter followers we have.
Being a follower of Jesus is not a spectator sport. It involves being active and getting dirty. It means that you’ll change, and grow, and give, and forgive, and share, and love.
Trinity is a place that offers tools (worship, Scripture, prayer and other spiritual disciplines), projects (outreach, service, stewardship) and mentors (Jesus, clergy, each other) that can help us to become faithful disciples. It’s a place where honest exploration and wholehearted experience can combine to create a life-changing, world-changing journey.
Sunday mornings, 9:30 am. This time between the worship services is our busiest time for faith formation. It’s a time to connect thoughtfully with God and one another. There are subjects and books that challenge us to think in new and creative ways about our faith, and invitations to more clearly see God at work in the world. Other programs invite us to find rest and renewal, to explore the deeper meaning of prayer and ritual, to learn the basics of Christian history and the Episcopal Church, and to reflect spiritually on our lives from birth to death. These opportunities include:
- Meet in the Middle (conversation over coffee/tea) in the Living Room.
- a book discussion group in the Chapel (now on a break until Fall 2017).
- an ever-changing additional option (video discussion, Bible study, etc.) in the Walbridge Room. Here's the schedule.
During some liturgical seasons (like Advent and Lent) we may have a single offering for the whole community.
Wednesday mornings, 10:30 am. Weekly Bible study: an hour of lively discussion based on portions of scripture in a casual setting. All are welcome to listen, share and learn.
If you’d like to bring a lunch along, we break at 11:30 for a time of fellowship before the 12:10 Eucharist.
Saturday mornings, 9:00 am. Saturday Morning Men’s Group. On the 2nd Saturday of the month, we meet at Rick’s City Diner, 5333 Monroe St. (at Nantuckett Dr.) to share a great breakfast and a Bible study with passages/lessons structured for guys.
