Why Honduras? A personal connection brought the needs of Emanuel Children's Home (an orphanage in San Pedro Sula, Honduras) to our attention. The Trinity community learned that in an effort to eliminate exploitation of children, Honduras does not allow adoption. As a result, there are a large number of children's homes, where children live until they are 18.

Emanuel Children’s Home does not have an infant nursery. Infants are sent instead to state-run institutions that provide little more than a crib and food. There are plans for a nursery, but currently there is no funding. That's where we come in.

How are we raising money for this project? Our first fundraising event was a garage sale on June 28. Thanks to the generosity of a donor who matched our profit, we raised over $2,500. Our next project is "Art with a Heart", an art show and sale at Trinity on November 15 & 16. For more information on this event, contact Wayne Anthony.
